It was the night before school started... - Queen of the First Grade Jungle

It was the night before school started...

...and I knew I needed to get some pictures before the kids showed up and destroyed the place!

In all seriousness- how long will it actually stay all neat and pretty??

Here is the view from the door.

I made these locker tags...I heart them!

My area- I gave up my desk a few years ago and I make do with TONS of plastic storage and my horseshoe table! You can also see my banner that I LOVE from Belinda on Etsy! Belinda and I will be doing a giveaway together very soon so keep your eyes peeled.

Here is the front of my room with my alphabet cards. I also used Cara's fantastic FREE schedule cards

My tissue pom poms. I even heard a principal in our district ask his teachers why they didn't have "these things" hanging from their ceilings. Keep your fingers crossed fire marshals don't hunt me down!

My oh-so-fabulous wreath that Claire (my special ed teacher- who has an ADORABLE resource room this year) gave me. Isn't she the sweetest?

The library in all its glory!

First Day treat bags from Miss Christie (I am not sure if she has these in her shop?!?! Help Christie!)

I wanted to do something "sweet" for my teammates for the first day of school!

And here are my kiddos in action-
Think the iPads were a hit???

  1. It's true, the kids do have a nack for "breaking in" the new classrooms but gosh your looks pretty!! I love the picture of all the kids with the iPads. Not a single one of them is off task. Talk about engaging technology!

    Happy Back to School!! :)

  27. I LOVE the classroom decor! Can you do a post about how you plan to use the iPads in your classroom and/or what apps you've used or plan to use with your kids? I really want to apply for a technology grant for a small group set, but feel like I need a little more information first. =)

  32. Your classroom is welcoming and beautiful! You did such a great job! What are all your kiddos up to on their iPads? Also how to you get that many iPads? I wanted to apply for a donors choose project but the school gets to keep the technology not the teacher so I'm just wondering how others are getting new technology. Hope you have an awesome year! Looks like your are off to a wonderful start!
