Walmart, Target, and Big Lots must have all heard what my color scheme is in my classroom.
Because let's face it- it's all about me :)
Just a reminder if I haven't drilled into your heads enough that my classroom is teal, purple, black, and white. Ignore the stuff on top of the bookshelf...it will be gone! I used to say I had a jungle theme, but I have finally come to terms that is really is just a color scheme. It gives me a reason to add chevron and polka dots in my room along with my zebra print!
Have you noticed that Walmart and Target have all that cute Dorm stuff in those colors. It is KILLING me. I can't walk into either store without feeling like I need to buy something for my classroom.
The above picture is actually from Big Lots! I about fell over when I saw this aisle.
This is just a preview of what is going on in my room currently! I have had a couple of FB readers express some concern over the busy-ness (how on earth do you spell that word) of the chevron, but I promise when I add what I need to, it won't feel that way at all!
I found black caddies at Walmart for 99 cents each!!! Are you kidding?
I then bought 2 rolls of purple zebra print ribbon and with a little hot glue...they look fit for my room!
Tomorrow I will show you how I took care of all that stuff on top of my lockers!
I linked up with sweet SC blogger Elizabeth!

I love the teal, black and white together. The purple looks nice too. :-) I LOVE LOVE LOVE the ribbon around the caddies, especially since the caddies were $1!!! What a great idea! You've just inspired me to go to Walmart... uh oh! I also love the chevron print (where did THAT come from- amazing!) and the teal mini crates. I have a few different colors, but not teal! I WANT! I am so excited now!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see how your classroom turns out!
I love it all! I think the Chevron really makes the bulletin board. I am also using Zebra and Chevron in my room too and I think it really works!

KATIE!!! I love it! ALL of it! I love that chevron print--I saw pillows with that on Walmart online and have been debating on buying them. I think the board looks really cool with that print between the solids. And it looks like Big Lots was thinking of you this year! :) :)
ReplyDeleteKristen- I am so glad you like it! There are so many times when I am decorating when I am like hmmm how would Kristen do this??? I am not even exaggerating. You and your room are my inspiration!

Your color scheme is beautiful! Seeing all the pics of peeps starting on their rooms is making me want to get into mine. I haven't been able to pass a pile of plastic bins that I haven't been drawn to yet, lol! Target really knew what they were doing by putting that darn $1 section close to the front door, lol! Colored bins, decorative, duct tape, ribbon....the possibilities are endless! :-)

Your room is awesome, it makes me want to redo what I already put together this year! One day when I part ways with my primary tables (red, yellow, blue, green scallop tables-love 'em but I'm stuck with those colors!) I will be able to re-do my room! Quick question...What do you have around the outside of your bulletin board? Is that black ribbon? I would love to see a pic when you finish that board! I have a very large board I am trying to split into sections and I think you have inspired me! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Heather! It is black ribbon! That is also a large board (9ft and some change) that I usually split into 2 but this year I need more room! I can't back into my room until the hallway wax is dry boo, but I plan on finishing up my room this week and then posting more pics! I am glad I could give you some ideas!
DeleteI am loving it all! Your classroom will be such an inviting and fun place to learn. =)
