Have NO Fear ***Superheroes are Here**** Pictures and a Giveaway! - Queen of the First Grade Jungle

Have NO Fear ***Superheroes are Here**** Pictures and a Giveaway!

Last summer I created a Superhero Students Back to School Unit.  I absolutely LOVED using it with my second graders.  It was very different than the units they had used in first grade, and I felt like I was able to learn a lot about my new students.

I also really enjoyed using these posters to set my behavior expectations.

We constantly referred to them throughout the year.  They also showed me how they would display these characteristics in our classroom.  The "Meet your Superhero" page went home as their first night of homework.  When they brought it back the following day, we shared as a class and I learned SO much about them!

As I began writing this blog post, my own little superheroes woke up for the day.  Of course they wanted in on the action!  I know this unit is good for boys, but my girls love it too! I am all about crushing gender assumptions!

It was very interested to listen to Nash and Emmie talk about how they would be superheroes for their teachers.  Nash is going through a little bit of a "Know-It-All" phase so he likes to tell Emmie all about kindergarten.  Emmie likes to respond with "Nash, stop lecturing me!"

Good times.

Here is Emmie's best superhero pose!

If you would like a closer look at the games that I included in the pack here you go!

I tried to include Math, ELA, and Writing activities so you could get a pretty well-rounded view of your students.

You can also check it out on TPT!
If you would like a chance to win BOTH my Superhero unit and Stephanie's Decor Pack, please head to my FB for a chance to win!

And last but not least, I started a Pinterest board so that I can make sure my first week of school is Super-rific for my 2nd graders!

AND....if you are feeling a little stressed about Back to School....

  4. Love, love, love your superheroes! Such a fun and flexible pack to use for those first weeks! You've thought of everything! I love the icebreaker roam the room and how easy it would be to even use some of these activities to start teaching my rules and procedures! Thanks so much for sharing your Pinterest board too!
