Prayers
31 May 2011
I come to my blogging friends because I know you all can say the words that I need to hear right now. One of my students was involved in a terrible car accident today. He is on Life Support right now with little chance of survival. His sister was killed and his other two siblings were severely injured. I spent the day in the hospital with his family and feel so much pain-I cannot imagine what his mother is going through. Please, please pray for their family. I know you all will understand when I say I feel like I am losing one of my own children.

Katie, I'm so very sorry to hear of this terrible tragedy. Prayers for strength, peace, health, and recovery go out to you, your student, and his family. Remember that God is the Master Doctor; I pray that His healing hands touch every single member of your student's family. He is holding that little girl close to him today. God bless you and your student.

Praying. I am so sorry and know that everyone involved will be added to our prayer list. We may not always understand the events that unfold in our lives but God's plan always has a purpose. May the Lord bless you and wrap his arms around you to comfort you. Please keep us updated.
ReplyDeleteI am very sorry to hear this. I will definitely have you, him, and his family in my prayers. <3
ReplyDeleteThoughts and prayers your way, to your student, and to the family of your student!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHow sad and tragic. I am so sorry. I will say a prayer for this little boy and his siblings. I feel your pain, as one of the sweetest little girls from my school was killed in a car accident on her way home from school 3 months ago. It was horrible and senseless and changed us all. Again, my thoughts and prayers go to this child and his family. And you...
ReplyDeleteSending prayers for your student and his family.

I lost my student at the beginning of this year. He and his family died in a bus accident. It took a lot of support to get through so many emotions. I thought recovered and then the kids started asking about Michael. I know what you are going through and it's going to be an emotional few days. I wish you strength and courage to get through this time.

I can't even imagine what you are going through, but I know that God does. My prayers are with all of you, but especially the little boy. May God surround all of you with His arms of love and help you through the next days and weeks.
ReplyDeleteYes, our babies in our classrooms do become "ours." You have fallen in love with quirks, silly expressions, and their little personalities. Praying for the Ultimate Healer to work in miraculous ways. Praying for his family and you as well.
ReplyDeletePrayers are being sent, please keep us posted. God will provide for this family, He always does. We may not understand why things happen this way, but you will feel the warming hand of our merciful God when he fills you and the family with peace during this time.

ReplyDeleteHow horrible, thinking and praying for you and the family. I can't even imagine.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe the pain that family must be going through. I will be praying for all of you.
ReplyDeleteLife is so very fragile and unpredictable. I will hold you all in my thoughts and send prayers your way. It is amazing how all of us only know each other through blogging and yet we feel so connected to one another. I told my husband one of my friends students was in the hospital and it dawned on me that I had said friend.

It breaks my heart every time I hear about a baby being killed. As a mommy, all I can do is think about that mother and what she must be going through. How does one survive after something so horrible? I can't imagine your heartache either. I know what you mean, they do become "yours". You're like a 2nd mommy to them and sometimes you see them even more than your own children. EVERY SINGLE one of them holds a special place in your heart.
ReplyDeleteMy deepest sympathy to you and the family of these babies.

Oh Katie, I am so sorry for what you and your class must be going through. As many have said, I can not find the words to express how you must feel right now. May God be with you and your community and I will be praying for you. All my love in this horrible time.

How sad! Everytime I see a news story about something happening to a young child I always think "that could be a child in my class." They definitely become "yours." I will keep the family, doctors, you and your class in my prayers. Please give an update when you have one.

How are you doing? How is the family? I just saw this. This sweet family, you, and your school is in my prayers. One of my K students from last year was diagnosed with lukemia in Septemeber. I have been by his parents side through the process of chemo, him loosing his hair and gaining so much weight, his transplant, etc. It is so hard to watch. You love your students like they are your own, even the difficult children. Prayers for peace that passes all understanding headed your way.

Katie, I'm so sad for you and your class. I can't believe how many other teachers have lost students! I've never lost a student but I have lost a child in a car accident. Both are awful tragedies. It is hard to go on, that is for sure, but I trust the Lord with all my heart and He will help and carry you and your class kiddos even as you hurt and don't understand why this had to happen. Life is hard sometimes. But I know that we always learn more from the hard things we have to go through. And others will be there to help. As you can see, friends are already gathering around you. Hugs to you through the blogwaves. Pattie pattiesclassroom.blogspot.com
ReplyDelete:( So sad :( How horrible for the parents .. and as the teacher too I am sure it was hard :( hugs
