Welcome! To the first ever edition of the "Sunday Safari!" If you love getting lost in blogs, pinning, and "stealing" great ideas- this is your place to be!
The intention of this feature is to highlight wonderful things going on in Blogland by both NEW and more SEASONED bloggers (I refuse to say old).
The first blog we have is the Teacher Idea Factory! Kelley is a SOON to be rockstar blogger. She has some great- I mean great- freebies and ideas in general.
Here is an example of one below:
And I couldn't help myself- here is another one I pinned!
Speaking of "pinning" I totally pinned this idea. With a ton of emphasis on the Arts at our school, I love the idea of using abstract art to talk about adjectives. Click on the picture to read more about Kelley's idea.
Our next stop on our Safari is Kenzi(what a beautiful name!) from Every New Beginning and when we talk about new-she is BRAND new! Her first post was about a week ago, but this girl shows promise!
Isn't her blog design gorgeous! Wait for it- she did it herself!
Look at some of her great spray painting skills below. I don't say that lightly either. Spray painting really does take skill. I know from experience with a project gone VERY badly :)
Can I admit that I didn't even think about spray painting these storage containers of which I have 18,000? HA! Can't wait to go to Lowe's next week!
By far my favorite project in her list of projects is this sweet mirror!
What a strong, beautiful message to send your students- and that price tag isn't too shabby either!
Kenzi also introduced me to Word Mark It in her latest post. If there is an easier way to choose a font- I'm down!
Please drop by to welcome Kenzi to the blogging world!
Now for the more seasoned part of the journey--
You all know the techy and super organized Kristen...
Well- you may not know that she has an amazing series of tutorials for bloggers.
If you ever want to know how to link directly to your blog in comments... check out this post below. That is how I found Kelley and Kenzi! I LOVE comments and I LOVE even more seeing the blogs that come with them :)
I hope you saw something you liked on our first Safari together, and I hope you will join me again next week!
I am off to work on the Math version of my Surf's Up Centers! If you haven't seen my Literacy Surf's Up- go check them out in my store- but only after you finish the Safari :)
What a great idea to highlight new and seasoned bloggers on your Sunday Safari!! All the ideas you shared today were great. I especially liked the mirror idea. Im so glad you mentioned the tutorials from Ladybug's Teacher Files because I am a newbie and still have lots to learn about blogging!! Thanks again!

DeleteI cannot thank you enough for shining the spotlight my way. I've got a smile on my face, my heart is full, and I just know today is going to be a great day (how could it be anything less than stellar with a start like this). Your blog is an inspiration for so many of us and it is awesome that you are taking the time to search out some newbies. I will be blogging about this in a little bit with the button!! I just gotta finish my report card comments first or I never will . . . hehehe (yuck)! Thanks again, Katie.

ReplyDeleteI am thinking about doing a spray painting step by step soon... would anyone be interested in that? I had an addiction to it for a while- everything in my house was getting painted!
