ReplyDeleteI LOVE the Derby! I live in Louisville, and I love how excited everybody is the two weeks before Derby. There are so many fun events going on in town right now- parades, races, balloon glows- and the excitement is contagious! :-)

DeleteI love that right after the Derby, it's Preakness right in my neighborhood! I also love all the fun fashion- hats, jockey shirts, etc.

Kentucky Girl here!! I love all the activities leading up to the Derby. I don't actually go to many of them but I love them all. I guess the balloon race and making Derby hats with my kiddos are my favorite things during this time. Several of the kids have been to the events too:)

I live in the frozen tundra...so the Derby is quite foreign to me! We're more about snowmobiles and ice houses - lol! I love the Derby...well horse races in general!!! I love everything about it, the environment, the rides, the horses in their element, the fancy hats and the bets!!! I'm a Texas girl! These units would be PERFECT for my class!

ReplyDeleteI live in Maryland and grew up near horses (and a race track) but my current school isn't. When we went on a fieldtrip with a long bus ride recently, my kinders were gaga over the farms and horses.

I like the horse's names and people's clothes and hats.
ReplyDeleteI love the moment the horses are in the starting gate! It's the moment you still believe you have the winner and then to find out your horse finished in last. I have been to the derby ( what a blast) and to the Preakness. I still have to go to Belmont to finish my triple crown!

I love my sister-in-law dearly! She loves horses dearly! She loves the derby and each year her mini horses are in the Pegasus Parade! The derby means so much to me because I love my sister-in-law and am thrilled that she gets to do something that means so much to her and brings so much joy to her heart. The things that matter the most to me are the things that matter the most to the people I love. That's what brings joy to my heart. :)
